Artichokes have great texture and color. 5 minute candle holder transformation:
Step 1: Pick a lovely artichoke ($2) and cut off the bottom so it stays upright. Step 2: Cut across top; carve out inside until you get to the clean interior leaves. Step 3: Give the artichoke hole a nice lemon juice bath so it doesn’t oxidize. Step 4: Insert a votive or small candle holder and a tealight. Enjoy.Note: Store in the fridge with a wet paper towel.

I have a soft spot for candle-holder hacks. Especially green ones!
